Octave-Bandwidth, High-Directivity Microstrip Couplers

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to examine techniques of velocity compensation, broadbanding, and tight coupling, and combine them to produce high-directivity, broad band microstrip couplers from 3 to 20 dB. A further objective was to develop a design procedure, with supporting tables and charts, to facilitate the rapid design of microstrip couplers and to verify the procedure experimentally.
