Bis((4-Phenylglyoxaloyl)Phenoxy) Diphenylsilane,

Abstract

The report contains information pertinent to the attempted synthesis of bis((4-phenylglyoxaloyl)phenoxy)diphenylsilane. This monomer was to be used in the preparation of a quinoxaline polymer which would have had improved solubility characteristics, therefore, making it more processable. However, it was found that undesirable side reactions occurred in all cases which prevented the formation of the desired product.
