Convective Burning of Porous Explosives (Konvektivnoe Gorenie i Poristye Vzryvchatye Veshchestva),

Abstract

The burning of porous gas-permeable explosives and miscible condensed systems is characterized by the following peculiarity: as the pressure increases, their almost laminar burning is disrupted and changes into a system of accelerated, so-called convective burning. While the conditions disrupting laminar burning of porous systems have been explained sufficiently completely, the nature of the development of convective burning, particularly in the early stages, have been little studied. The present work presents the results of investigations of some stages of development of the burning process of porous systems of limited length.
