Distribution of Tension and Frictional Forces Along a Model Band Track.
Abstract
A mathematical model was developed which would predict the tension distribution along a band track, and a physical model was designed, constructed, and used to investigate the accuracy of the mathematical model. The model appeared adequate in predicting tension distribution for a static vehicle, but did not predict the redistribution of tension when the vehicle was in motion. (Modified author abstract)
