Rough Handling Tests of Pacer and Instapak Foam-in-Place of Fuel Tank Assembly and Pylon Assembly.

Abstract

Three containers proposed for shipping/storage were subjected to rough-handling tests. Two containers were fabricated from fiberboard and one container was fabricated from paper-overlaid-veneer. All containers were mounted on wooden skids. The blocking and bracing used was 0.5 and 2.0 pcf rigid polyurethane foam. The testing was conducted in accordance with Federal Test Method Standard No. 101, Level A. From the results obtained it was concluded that the foam-in-place containers would provide adequate blocking and bracing for the items. (Author)
