Coordinated Use of General Purpose Computers (UVM) for Hydromines,

Abstract

The hydraulic method of coal mining is very promising since it possesses high productivity and at the same time facilitates conversion to the creation of automated coal mining complexes with minimum human participation in the production process. The USSR is a pioneer in the field of hydromine automation with the aid of computer technology. An important step in this field is the creation at hydromines of the 'Yubileynoye' mine directorate of an experimental industrial control system built on the principle of coordinated employment of digital control computers for control of the technological processes in hydromines and for solving economic-planning and computing problems. The general purpose 'Dnepr' UVM is used in the system as a digital control computer.
