Radial Pressure on a Gun Launched Motor Case Due to Slumping Propellant

Abstract

An investigation was undertaken to determine the radial pressure due to the slumping propellant in a gun-launched rocket motor case subject to high axial g loading during launch. Using a Rayleigh-Ritz formulation an approximate solution was obtained.
