Abstract

The crystal and molecular structure of 2,3-(eta-C5H5)2-2,3-Co2-1,7-C2B8H10 has been determined by a complete three-dimensional X-ray diffraction study. The compound crystallizes in the monoclinic centro-symmetric space group. The molecule can be described as a distorted icosahedron comprised of two cobalt, two carbon, and eight boron vertices.
