Joint Army Navy Air Crew Impact Injury Prevention Program.

Abstract

The report covers the mathematical analysis and computer-related efforts. The vertical acceleration data processing effort included the writing and testing of conversion and scaling programs, after which the vertical acceleration data was scaled and plotted. The two-dimensional data base, which includes both sensor and photographic variables, was completed; plots were made of all variables from all appropriate runs. The 3-D analysis continued with work being done on various configurations of six accelerometers. Further analysis was performed on 3-D photogrammetry including methods of calibration and data reduction of optical and x-ray photography. A preliminary regression analysis was performed with respect to head and neck response to impact acceleration. Various other programming efforts relating to the project were performed.
