Optical and Electrical Properties of CuGaS2 - CdS Junctions.

Abstract

Thin films of low resistivity CdS and CuGaS2 have been deposited by flash evaporation onto conductive crystals of CuGaS2 and CdS, respectively. The devices so formed have exhibited good rectifier characteristics at room temperature, and the CdS-on-CuGaS2 devices have exhibited electroluminescence in the green and red at 77K. The devices are believed to be heterojunctions and the green light is believed to originate from electrons injected from the n-type CdS into the p-type CuGaS2. (Author)
