Analysis of Electron Data from the OV1-13 Satellite.

Abstract

Some gross features in the radiation belts have been investigated with the e-MA electron detector (nominal energy range 0.1 MeV to 1.0 MeV) on the OV1-13. More detailed and comprehensive studies cannot be made because there is too little data coverage. Temporal variations were observed in the spectral shape and intensity as a function of L during the June 10, 1968, geomagnetic storm. Comparisons were made of the particle populations measured by the OV1-13 e-MA detector and by the ATS-1 experiment (50<E<500 keV) during the substorm on April 10, 1968, and some later periods near June, 1968.
