A Climatological Summary of Fog Occurrence at NAS Lemoore Based on Hourly Surface Observations.

Abstract

The climatological study was prepared in support of NAVWPNSCEN Project TULE FOG, a fog-clearing experiment at NAS Lemoore. It provides relationships between the occurrence of reduced visibility due to fog and meteorological variables pertinent to fog-clearing experiments. The summarized meteorological variables were: visibility, relative humidity, occurrence of fog and other obstructions to vision, precipitation, wind direction and speed, and hour of fog occurrence.
