Report of the International Ice Patrol Service in the North Atlantic Ocean (Season of 1963),
Abstract
The bulletin is No. 49 in the series of annual reports on the International Ice Patrol Service in the North Atlantic Ocean and covers the season of 1963. It is divided into two parts. The first is a report of the observation operations which extended from 7 March to 21 June 1963. Ship, aircraft and communication activities are described and special sections deal with observed monthly ice conditions and statistics on ice and sea temperature reports for 1963. The second part comprises a preliminary presentation of the oceanographic data collected during 1963. Included are charts of dynamic topography of the sea surface (ocean current maps), tables of oceanographic data, and a brief discussion of the results of each of the seasons oceanographic surveys.
