The Determination of Environmental Difficulty for Replenishment at Sea.

Abstract

The publication describes a numerical scale for interpreting the environment as normally observed or predicted in terms of the difficulty and hazards to be expected in a conventional, alongside, underway replenishment under varying degrees of environmental severity. The scale provided represents a consensus from more than four thousand UNREPs, in both the Atlantic and Pacific Fleets, over a wide range of weather conditions.
