RF Wideband Data Terminal.

Abstract

The rf wideband data terminal study considers the most suitable design approach to a solid-state device which enables a high-speed digital data stream, at rates up to 500 Mb/s, to be modulated onto a carrier frequency in the EHF government communication bands from 10-300 GHz. The EHF propagation channel is examined. Solid-state component technology is evaluated to assess feasibility. Trade-off considerations are presented which result in a recommended design concept employing differentially coherent FM-PSK modulation systems. (Author)
