Design, Fabrication and Evaluation of an Electron Beam Addressable High Information Density Memory Tube.

Abstract

The cause of high 'O' response was determined and methods to eliminate this problem have been developed. Testing of BEAMOS tube No. 7 shows a capability of 5.6 in bit spacing at a 10 mb/sec readout rate for an overall storage capacity of 1.7 x 10 to the 7th power bits. A preliminary demonstration of BEAMOS system operation involving a data link between two buildings, 10 miles apart, was held. This test demonstrated total digital 'in' and digital 'out' operation of the Memory Test System. (Author)
