Ground Shock Calculation Parameter Study. Report 3. Influence of Type of Constitutive Model on Ground Motion Calculations.

Abstract

The report is the third in a series, 'Ground Shock Calculation Parameter Study,' centered on the Prairie Flat Event. The first report describes the effect of different elastic-ideally plastic constitutive model formulations on calculated ground shock, while the second report describes the effect of different bottom boundary conditions. The report documents the results of a parameter study conducted to determine the effects of using different types of nonlinear constitutive models to fit a given set of soil property data in calculations of high-explosive, airblast-induced, superseismic ground shock.
