Automation of Communications System Planning, Engineering and Control (COMSPEC-A). Draft.

Abstract

The draft manual was prepared to provide the basic concept for the transition to the use of automation support for COMSPEC purposes in the 1976-80 time period. Automation support is to be provided by new equipment that is yet to be developed and standardized. Its use will affect not only the methods and procedures to be used but also the organizations and specialists that will use them. The total transition process involves a time lapse before TO and E, training programs and hardware inventories can be changed in order to implement this new concept. In the interim, the manual can provide the basis for planning the eventual implementation process and in defining the specific program actions and modifications that are required.
