Defective Color Vision, Filters, Film and the Detection of Camouflaged Targets: An Annotated Bibliography,

Abstract

The report presents the results of an intensive literature research which was performed during a project concerning the effectiveness of color-deficient individuals in detecting and identifying targets in varying degrees of concealment. The first section covers color blindness and camouflage, color blindness, acquired defects, genetic characteristics, and tests for color blindness. This section contains over 275 annotated references and approximately another 400 bibliographic references. The second section contains over 150 annotated references in the general area of camouflage, filters, film, and spectral reflectances of natural terrain objects. (Modified author abstract)
