The Impact of Environment upon Naval Operations.

Abstract

Among the several Navy Weather Research Facility tasks, determination of the critical environmental characteristics of Naval operations is perhaps the most important. The aim of this task is to determine quantitative relationships between variations in environmental severity and the effectiveness, difficulty, or the probability of loss or damage for each major type of operation. The purpose of these studies, the manner in which conducted, difficulties experienced and applications of results to date are discussed. (Author)
