Development of Metal Halide Lasers.

Abstract

Work was initiated to assess the feasibility of constructing a visible laser employing electronically excited metal halide molecules as an active media. Special attention was focussed on the group IIA metal monohalides. Fluorescence intensity versus time is plotted and a method of measuring radiative lifetime is developed.
