Performance Studies of the Jet Seeder Nuclei Generator.

Abstract

The report is an addendum to the progress report of 22 February 1973 showing results from use of the IAS modified version of the NWC Airborne Jet Seeder. Data show the nucleation efficiencies improve when the primary/secondary air ratios are increased from 1:12 to 1:4 with 10% H2O in the solution when a 2.0 nozzle is used. The 4.0 nozzle gave consistently high nucleation efficiencies and seemed less sensitive to changes in the primary to secondary air airflow ratios. Also shown are various particle parameters as a function of measured flame temperatures.
