Great progress has been made in eradicating such diseases as malaria, helminthic invasion, amebiasis, dysentery, diphtheria, tularemia, typhoid fever, and paratyphoid, brucellosis, grippe, O fever, exanthemous fever, and recurrent typhus. This success is attributed to the prophylactic measures, a system of sanitary epidemiological stations, and improved medical research and treatment.
