Effect of Magnesium Sulfate and Medium Reaction on Determination of Monomycin and Erythromycin in Human Bile,

Abstract

Investigations showed that bile from the gall bladder and the ducts, duodenal bile, and also a 33% solution of magnesium sulfate, ordinarily used to obtain the B-portion of duodenal bile, did not suppress the growth of the test culture and thus could not influence the results of determination of monomycin and erythromycin in the bile.
