The Study of Cultural Indications of Breeding Strains of 'Actinomyces levoris Krass' and Conditions for Storing Them,

Abstract

Studies were made of the culture and physiological properties of the breeding strains 396/18/1 and 12/13 of Actinomyces levoris Krass. Investigations of these strains were conducted on the following differential-diagnostic media: Czapek 1, organic 2, starch-ammonia, potato slices, and synthetic medium with carbohydrates. The investigated strains differed on three media in the nature of growth. The proteoloytic activity of strain 12/13 was higher than that of strain 396/18/1. Comparative study of the antibiotic activity of strains 396/18/1 and 12/13 under laboratory conditions showed that strain 12/13 is more active; its activity was 30-40% higher than that of the control.
