A Model for a Climatology of the Potential of Ice-Phase Modification of Convective Clouds.

Abstract

The ability to modify the precipitation and the dynamics of convective clouds through ice-phase seeding is highly dependent upon the thermodynamic state of the atmosphere. The paper discusses the theory of the convective mode, presents examples of the climatologies that are produced, outlines the limitations of the model, and suggests what can be done in the future to develop more advanced climatologies of modification potentials.
