On the Quantitative Interpretation of Anomalies of Transformed Functions (Kolichestvennoi Interpretatsii Anomalii Transformirovannykh Funktsii),

Abstract

An approximate method is worked out for solving the inverse problem of gravity surveying from values of gravity variation. It is based on the method of extending the solution by parameter. To obtain stability of the solution, the regularizing algorithm of A. N. Tikhonov is used. The anomalous objects are approximated by a set of elementary prisms to carry out the method on the Minsk-22 electronic computer, allowing of about 10-15% (estimate from trying the method on a model) in the presence of a regional background close to linear and a level of random errors in the initial gravity values on the order of 0.2 mgal. The proposed method could be applied without significant change to the interpretation of any other transformed functions. (Author)
