Routing Cargo Carriers.

Abstract

The paper discusses many of the factors and relationships which affect the routing of cargo carriers. Two approach to the routing problem are outlined; an optimization approach, and a heuristic approach. The optimization approach uses a linear programming algorithm in an enumeration scheme to derive a solution. The heuristic approach uses several sets of decision rules to create a routing solution. Examples of both approaches are compared and discussed. (Author)
