1-KW Xenon Fast-Start Lamp.
Abstract
A new 1-kW short arc high-pressure xenon lamp was successfully developed. This lamp can be started at a relatively low voltage (approximately 200V) and therefore eliminates the requirement of a high-voltage ignitor. Test results indicate that the lamp performance in terms of luminance and luminous efficacy is equal to or better than the current 1-kW lamp employed in the AN/VSS-3 searchlight. (Author)
