The American soldier in Peacetime.
Abstract
Current public attitudes towards the Army are considered in light of the Viet Nam conflict, military scandals, and the need by the Army for personnel to maintain a volunteer force. Current efforts at domestic action are cited. The attitude of military personnel towards domestic action and community involvement is examined. A series of possible peacetime roles for the Army are set forth together with the conclusion that the Army should become more involved in activities of the type cited. (Author)
