PACOM Base Structure, 1975-1985.
Abstract
In view of President Nixon's trip to the People's Republic of China (PRC), plus the announcement of the Nixon Doxtrine, now is the time to reevaluate the US Pacific base structure. Some bases will be lost to US use, either by changing needs, or political restrictions being placed on them by the host country. Other bases had been made obsolete for US purposes by technological developments in the field of weaponry. (Author)
