The Reserve Program in a Zero Draft Environment.

Abstract

Increased manning and training are essential to enable the Reserves to fulfill its new role as a full partner in the total force (one Army) concept. Positive action is needed to control serious problems affecting the Reserves program, which have been introduced by implementation of the all-volunteer Armed Forces. Factors affecting unit readiness (recruiting, retention, and training) are reviewed. (Modified author abstract)
