Enrollment Potential for College-Based Military Officer Training Programs: A Comparison of Results of Surveys Conducted in May 1972 and May 1973,

Abstract

The interest of college-bound high school seniors in applying for college-based military officer training programs was assessed. Comparisons were made between surveys conducted in 1972 and 1973. Air Force and Navy ROTC scholarship programs appeared to be the most popular with the youth surveyed. Higher likelihood of applying was found among youths from low income families. Travel, adventure and the opportunity for technical and professional training were strong motivators in applying for officer training programs. (Modified author abstract)
