Specifications for Computer-Aided and On-Line Group Conferencing

Abstract

The report proposes a set of features for a future computer conferencing system that would employ the computer and network characteristics currently available, or at the planning stage, on the ARPA network. It addresses the problem of on-line group conferencing from the point of view of user language structure, differentiating between conference participants and activity organizers. The system outlined here is assumed to be planned for implementation in assembly language, its program size not exceeding the size of the existing FORUM system.
