Investigation of the Skin-Irritating and Allergic Effect of Fabrics Made from Polyamide Fibers,

Abstract

The results of the investigation make it possible to conclude that aqueous extracts of capron and nylon 66 fabrics bring about the sensitization of the organism, which is attested to by both the local as well as the general reaction of the organism. The general reaction can develop without the presence of local manifestations. The investigations which were carried out indicate the necessity of again checking the types of synthetic materials which have been introduced into production for clothing for the purpose of determining their possible unfavorable effect on the organism in the form of dermatitis and symptoms of sensitization.
