A Method for Heating and Melting Metals,

Abstract

The patent describes a method for heating and melting of metals in a suspended state in an electromagnetic field in vacuum or inert atmosphere. In order to regulate the temperature of the suspended metal over a wide range, the heating is accomplished by means of two electromagnetic fields of varied frequencies, one of which holds the metal in a suspended state with minimal heating, while the second field heats the metal to a certain temperature.
