Observed Statistical Behavior of Radar Moon Echo Signals.

Abstract

The observed statistical behavior of radar Moon echo signals at a transmitted radio frequency of 138.6 MHz has been analyzed. The results of the data analysis are in terms of plots for averaged Moon echoes, ensemble autocorrelation functions, and sample probability density functions at a fixed range. An empirical modeling of the data was attempted by curve fitting the results. (Author)
