Precision Tracking.

Abstract

The results of a precision (microradian) tracking study are reported. Several different filtering techniques were studied. The results indicated that the best of these techniques would reduce the rms error in angular measurement to 70% of the rms error caused by unfiltered measurement noise when the target exercised a 20-g, 1-Hz sinusoidal maneuver, and to about 50% of the error caused by unfiltered noise for a 1-g, 1-Hz target.
