On the Approximation of Multivariate Functions.
Abstract
The purpose of the report is to study the remainder term of Schoenberg's variation diminishing spline approximation formula and to extend some univariate results to the approximation of multivariate functions. Also, a method is described which obtains multivariate numerical approximation schemes with a higher order of approximation. Finally, some illustrative examples are included.
