Hydraulic Hose Specification Study.

Abstract

The purpose of the OSU-MERDC Hydraulic Specification Program is to develop industrially acceptable test procedures and requirement specifications relative to the performance of hydraulic components and systems to facilitate the military's 'buy commercial' approach. Although the program has been aimed toward components and systems for future 3000 psi operating pressure levels, it was intended that the test procedures be applicable to any pressure level. This report presents a detailed account of the experimental testing program conducted to determine the significance of flexure in hose testing. Test data and analysis are included as well as a discussion of background information provided by other investigators. Recommendations are made for testing standards based on the study. (Author)
