On-Board Hydraulic System Monitor Study.

Abstract

The purpose of the OSU-MERDC Hydraulic Specification Program is to develop industrially acceptable test procedures and requirement specifications relative to the performance of hydraulic components and systems to facilitate the military's buy commercial approach. Although the program has been aimed toward components and systems for future 3000 psi operating pressure levels, it was intended that the test procedures be applicable to any pressure level. In order to obtain valid data from hydraulic systems in the field, an on-board monitoring device was developed and applied on various machines. This report contains a detailed account of the hardware constructed, the field investigation, and analytical methods developed during the period of 9 November 1972 to 9 November 1973.
