Burst Processor Tapped Delay Line.
Abstract
The objective of the program is a feasibility determination for implementing a doppler resolution filter configured as an acoustic surface wave tapped delay line. The Burst Processor Tapped Delay Line (BPTDL) utilizes a parallel channel geometry such that each delay output is derived from a separate acoustic channel. The results of the evaluation of two prototype models confirm that the original performance goals are feasible, with the major impediment to improved device performance being difficulty in achieving high resolution transducer photodeposition over the large pattern area. The last six month's effort has been directed at developing improved fabrication methods, with the results being the demonstration of new photolithography techniques that are capable of producing acceptable BPTDL patterns and the delivery of two prototype circuits. This report presents the accomplishments of this effort.
