Management Tools for Mid-Level (Battalion and Brigade) Army Managers.

Abstract

The effective management of assets, personnel and material, is the major concern of Army commanders. Accordingly, it is the view taken in the paper that every effort should be expended to provide the commander, particularly at battalion and brigade level, with modern management tools. Proposed is an automated system immediately reponsive to battalion and brigade commanders, which would allow them to store, recall, manipulate and study administrative, personnel, operations, and logistic data pertinent to their responsibility. It is postulated that such a system would allow the commander to make more timely, practical and economical decisions for the employment of his entrusted assets. (Modified author abstract)
