Thermionic Properties of Solid State Device-Environment System,

Abstract

The term heatswitch (HS) is defined as a structure of alternating layers of metals and insulators with certain thermal and electrical resistance. The report describes the application of heatswitches for the development of a compact, lightweight and inexpensive solid state device by using common heat sinks or by using the body of the device as a heat sink.
