Investigation of Pulsed Currents in Compressed Lead Azide in Prebreakdown Fields,

Abstract

The behavior of current pulses in compressed lead azide in prebreakdown electrical fields was investigated. It was found that current amplitude increases with increase in sample thickness. It also was found that there is a sharp increase in current at some critical electrical field voltage, which is evidence of the appearance of a new mechanism leading to a rapid increase in number of current carriers.
