Single-Frequency Magnetotelluric Tensor Impedance Measurements in the Upper Peninsula, Michigan.

Abstract

Single-frequency magnetotelluric (MT) resistivity measurements were made of tensor impedance at several sites in the Upper Peninsula, Michigan. This report describes the manner in which the resultant data may be interpreted. It is shown that the measured data were in good agreement with the known geology of the region and agreed reasonably well with conductivity values calculated using the wave impedance method.
