Research on Semiconductors and Transistor Electronics.

Abstract

The areas of research have been mainly surface physics of semiconductor surfaces. The original direction of the research was directed toward space charge layers and the role of surface states on oxide covered and atomically clean surfaces in vacuum. Later on interest and techniques changed so that the major field of interest was the band structure of germanium silicon and gallium arsenide using the space charge region modulation techniques developed by this laboratory and others over the past decade. The contribution to the field of solid state electronics during the period of ONR support under this contract as well as previous ones is shown by the list of publications which follows this page. The publication titles show the diversity of subjects covered as well as the names of the personnel who have worked on this contract.
