Abstract
The report constitutes Volume II of a four-volume series on design and construction of new and overlay continuously reinforced concrete airfield pavement, and contains a detailed procedure for designing overlay pavements. It contains procedures for evaluating the existing pavement and the materials composing the pavement, selecting the required overlay thickness, designing the transverse and longitudinal reinforcing steel and designing the joints. The design procedures are presented in the form of a series of charts and nomographs from which design parameters may be obtained by entering with appropriate input parameters. A detailed procedure for resilient modulus testing is also provided. (Author)
