The Strategic Importance of the Polar Regions to the United States.

Abstract

The arctic regions, covering large areas of the earth's surface, are cold and hostile to mankind. The question of the significance of these wastelands to the United States is examined. The Arctic and the Antarctic regions are described separately and their important resources and features are outlined. (Modified author abstract)
