Abstract

The roots of isolationism, as a major theme in U.S. foreign and military policies over the years, are traced to the earliest days of national history. The aspects of present-day isolationist tendencies, and their effect upon military policy over the years, are examined and briefly critiqued. (Modified author abstract)
